  2. G/Ethernet MC Workstation Drivers for Advanced NetWare v2.1 or v2.11
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------
  4. The G/Ethernet MC Micro Channel adapter is for the IBM Models 50, 60, and
  5. Model 80-16Mhz PS/2 systems.  
  6.  
  7. If you have a 20Mhz Model 80, you will need a special driver from the
  8. Gateway's BBS called 8020WS21.ARC.
  9.      
  10. Special instructions for the G/Ethernet MC Micro Channel Adapter
  11. ================================================================

  13. In addition to the file server and workstation drivers, a special PS/2
  14. ADF file must be used when installing the micro channel adapter.  
  15.  
  16. This file is called @6018.ADF, and must be copied onto your working 
  17. copy of the IBM Reference disk. 
  18.  
  19. Boot the PS/2 computer with the working copy of the reference disk in 
  20. drive A: of the IBM PS/2 system.  Please see full instructions in the 
  21. IBM PS/2 Installation Manual.

  23. When running NETGEN or SHGEN on Advanced NetWare for the PS/2, the hardware
  24. configuration options will read [Use PS/2 Auto Config for Slot x], "x" being
  25. the slot number in the PS/2.  This means that the G/Ethernet adapter must
  26. be in slot "x" of the PS/2 bus.  Use the arrows to select the configuration
  27. that you want to use.

  29. Generating the Workstation Drivers
  30. ----------------------------------
  31. Step 1:     Copy the GEMCSH.LAN file to the SHGEN-1 diskette.  This file points
  32.      to the diskette that contains the G/Ethernet drivers (LAN_DRV_207).

  34. Step 2:     Format a floppy diskette with the volume name of LAN_DRV_207
  35.  
  36.      FORMAT a: /v
  37.  
  38.      or name the diskette after format with the DOS LABEL command.
  39.  
  40.      You will be prompted to insert this diskette during SHGEN.

  42. Step 3:  Copy the GEMCSHEL.OBJ file to the diskette LAN_DRV_207.  
  43.          
  44. Step 4:  Run SHGEN and select the correct driver from the list of LAN
  45.          adapter options to generate the file server operating system.
  46.  
  47.      It is very important to label the driver diskette LAN_DRV_207 
  48.      because the NETGEN and SHGEN procedures will ask for the driver 
  49.          diskette by name.
